Goozex, that ubiquitous master of videogame trading services, is having "Free Game Month", where new accounts get 100 free Goozex points (which is neat!). If you aren't familiar with Goozex, we here at The Weekly Geek use it constantly to refresh our game libraries. You see, instead of giving your old games to Gamestop and getting only pennies on the dollar back, you trade your game directly to other Goozex users online and get the exact value of your game back in Goozex points. You can then use your points to trade for games from other people. I've been able to really round out my collection of rare and otherwise lesser-known games, and if you haven't checked it out and are perhaps low on cash, now's a great time to jump on the Goozex bandwagon. It's one bandwagon you won't regret jumping on.
I even have a game all picked out for you already.

We at Chez Geek are unabashed fans of Goozex and while most of the rational, frontal lobe equipped set are as well, there are still a few holdouts I'm sure. If the square trade system isn't enough to make your tingle equipped bits tingle then their latest promotion almost certainly will.
The glorious bastards at Goozex are giving away Xbox 360s, and not just any 360, no they're giving away Halo 360s. That's right, now while you scream obscenities at people you'll never meet you can rest easy in the knowledge that you are the penultimate Halo fan, either that or you won an Xbox 360, either way a resounding success in whole.
Go check out the contest here and while you're there trade some games without getting completely raped by corporate America.

Awesome game trading site Goozex announced today the official launch of their new Video Game Community Facebook app, which allows you to not only link up your Goozex profile to the popular social networking service, but add reviews, make lists of favorite games, and share content.
I personally really like the idea of cataloging my games all in one place (because I am super anal retentive about cataloging) and Goozex is the obvious choice since you can put games up for trade. Integration with an application I already use like Facebook is even better.
It's a free download for Facebook users, check it out.
If you aren't a member of Goozex, click here and enter the code Geek-2007 for a couple extra lives.

You guys may have noticed some new banner ads on our site from Goozex, a spectacular game trading service that you totally should be using instead of trading games to Gamestop or EB Games. We are testing out different locations and junk, so hopefully it's not too intrusive. We also have the top 10 traded games list on the sidebar, which is handy to see what people want. In honor of this new affiliate partnership, we have a special offer for you! When you sign up for Goozex, enter the secret code Geek-2007. You'll get 5 free trades and a bonus 100 points after your first successful trade. Super sweet!

Oh man, dudes. PAX is over and it was nuts. I'll have a bigger post later and we'll of course talk about it on the show tomorrow, but I wanted to give you a few quick bullet points on my experiences:

--The Washington State Convention & Trade Center is pretty damn snazzy.
--There was a distinct lack of con stank.
--Wil Wheaton is a classy gent.
--Flynn De Marco is rad.
--Gabe and Tycho are always entertaining.
--The dudes at Goozex are awesome and you should use their website.
--Pink Godzilla sells some cool stuff.
--I am so buying Metroid Prime 3 this week.
--Rock Band is fucking awesome.
--Holy crap, I'm tired.
--Halo 3 has some sweet new weapons.
--Rock Band is fucking awesome.
--No seriously, I'm really tired.

Ok, you know how last night on the podcast I was talking about how I signed up for this new video game trading service called Goozex and how I thought it may very well be cool? Turns out, it's completely awesome. Within an hour of finishing the recording, I checked my inbox and I already had four of my requested games come up for trade. Since I didn't have any points yet I couldn't get them, but still these were some pretty great games! I had requested Oblivion and Dead Rising, and both were available. Also, two of my games were requested, Super Paper Mario and Prostroke Golf. Yes, the same Prostroke Golf that I said was a piece of crap and I thought I would never be able to trade. I am shipping the games out today, all I have to do is print out labels and go to the post office. Once they arrive at their destination, I get points and can get games of my own! Sure it's a bit slower than going down to Gamestop, but you aren't feeding the horrible Gamestop/EB Games used game machine, and if you are into older games you may have missed (like myself), the library is unsurpassed. Check Goozex out, tell em "chrisfurniss" sent you. You will thank me. Serious.

This week's Geek Podcast features Chris Furniss, Colette Bennett and The Geek discussing comic con, the new Iron Man movie (verdict: awesome looking), new Futurama, The Simpsons, Wes Anderson movie news and more. They weigh in on the video games as art debate (Again! Always with the games as art!), discuss game trading and Goozex and rant about furries. Yes, furries. Subscribe to the podcast in iTunes or download now! But subscribing is better.
