Every once in a while, Woot has a Photoshop contest that really brings out the funny. This week the subject was "an especially inappropriate franchise (an old TV show, comic book, classic novel, ancient myth, cartoon, movie, etc.)" Here's my favorite (and the winner!)

What's shakin' in the forums?

Hey they Geekkateers, I'm here to give you your radical forum update before Amy and I hit the road to drive down to Oregon to celebrate two of my favorite sins, sloth and gluttony. But I'll still be checking ol' interwubs now and again once we get to my parents' place and I expect to see you all having fun in the forums. What? You're not a member yet? Well go on and sign up, sucka. Then you can discuss such intellectual topics as:

• What is and isn't a spoiler?
• Was doing it all in CG really necessary?
• Basically the best fan art ever, except he's like professional or something.
• Who is it your intention to reach on the other end of the line when you use the telephone?
• This looks like it could end up being a pretty awesome tribute to the best comic strip ever.

Impressive Calvin and Hobbes student film

From the sadly sinking ship that is Table of Malcontents today, I give you this amazing treat.

Italian student Donato DeCarlo made this Calvin and Hobbes animation for school, and it's amazing. Watch it and dream about what could have been if Bill Watterson wasn't such a shut-in.
