We're a geek culture podcast and blog covering video games, music, food and more. We are the kinds of people who evangelize whatever we are into - it could be anything - but it's usually pretty geeky. We're casual, conversational, NSFW and hopefully interesting. We hope you enjoy it.

Podcast for 09.15.08 | Rock Hero Guitar Band 6

rockheroguitarband6.jpg

It's the battle of the blogs this week as your hosts are joined by the esteemed Nick Chester, Editor in Chief of Destructoid. We discuss the recent release of Rock Band 2 and how it holds up versus the original and the upcoming Guitar Hero World Tour. But we don't just talk about Rock Band! Okay, we talk a lot about Rock Band. But! We also discuss storytelling in co-op games, reinventing classics and why more "realistic" games made today may not stand the test of time, and Netflix origami! In addition, this podcast marks the premiere of our brand new theme song courtesy of the masterful Tettix, tunesmith extraordinaire. We also read your mailbag questions and announce a new contest. Don't miss it!

I got a mention. Didn't expect that.

You guys should give Spore a chance. I thought the creature stage was like an MMO too, but I actually enjoyed that more than any other stage. Genocide is fun.

Those Rock Band silencers from Gamestop are terrible! They don't attach to the grayed drum area, but to the black raised rim. After you smooth it out and press the pads down onto the drum you get a rubber crater of sorts, but doing so lessens the area you can hit with the sticks by almost half. Hitting the rim and up to about two inches into the center dosen't register any hit unless your beating incredibly hard. Its was the worst $20 I've spent in quite a while.

Stick with the tube socks.

I really liked Nick Chester. It's nice that Destructoid hires people who are genuinely entertaining and intelligent. Qais is great, and so is Nick Chester. I completely understand Nick Chester being one word.

Nick Brutal. Awesome.

Of course you got a mention, Bender! That was one of my biggest annoyances regarding Spore. I really need to play some more, but Rock Band 2 is definitely taking up most of my free time right now. :)
