Is being called a "gamer" a bad thing? On this week's podcast, Chris, Mack and Qais look into how gamers as a group are regarded by the general populace. Are we really all just trash talking escapist sociopaths? Or is "gamer" just another flavor of geek? We discuss various arguments on both sides, also touching on this week's news from Microsoft's answer to the Wii, to analyzing Portal's main villain, to Penny Arcade's newest indie games venture.

One thing that pisses me off most is how the title, "Gamer" is understood. People think of me as a gamer in my school, I'm cool with that.

But some people just automatically think that since I game, I must have absolutely no life and friends.

Which could NOT be more wrong.

Greenhouse is for the mac, where as Steam is exclusive to the PC. Yay!

Yeah, as danton d. stated, Steam is a PC-exclusive affair. Part of their mission with Greenhouse is to distribute games for Mac, PC and even Linux. That's where they're competing with Steam.

It's a potentially great idea. The Mac market is certainly prime realestate for downloadable games, it just requires the right games in the right place.

Was I the only one who was reminded of the "What is Art" sketch from The State when they heard the "What is a gamer"? I can't find it on The YouTube or I would link it.
