We're a geek culture podcast and blog covering video games, music, food and more. We are the kinds of people who evangelize whatever we are into - it could be anything - but it's usually pretty geeky.

Podcast for 12-17-07 | Comical Violence

    comicviolence.jpg

This week, Chris, Qais, Colette and Flynn from GayGamer.net wrap up 2007 with a show so amazing your head will explode. Qais gushes about Burnout Paradise (or, just the demo. It was a really good demo.) We ponder how 2k developers could ever hate Ken Levine, Chris rants a bit about radical social change during a Ninja Gaiden discussion (as he do). Fake words are also discussed, as well as a horrible trip down memory lane involving our first blogs. Download it right here, or subscribe to the feed. Or both! Hit the jump for show notes.

I have a great new name for the podcast. "Whining Obscenity, Complaints, and Negativity"(WOCAN). Seriously, what happened to the show? I don't like the direction it has taken at all! Miyamoto gets called out for not being innovative and every single one of you agrees? Weekly Geek used to be one of my favorite podcasts but all I heard in the episode was whine, bitch, "F" bomb, whine, bitch, "F" bomb, we love Bio Shock, "F" bomb, whine, "F" bomb, we love Bio Shock, bitch, whine, "F" bomb. Thanks for all the good times in the past but I'm afraid this might be my last episode. I'll give it one more chance. Please guys keep your fanbase and stop with all the negativity!

What's wrong with obscenity? Words only have power if you give them power. I would also define our "whining" as criticism. We are critics, we criticize. We called Miyamoto out for not being innovative because he is, in fact, not being innovative. That's called an opinion. If an opinionated podcast filled with criticism and words that adults use offends you, then I am sorry. Our numbers seem to disagree with your opinion of the show!

Most podcasts suck, man. The majority of them consist of a group of semi or poorly educated people discussing topics that they have opinions about. If you don't like this, I suggest giving up podcasts altogether.

I think Jerry Holkins might have invented "Lexiconnoisseur." The first time I heard it was on their Whence Wii podcast (around 12:30). At the very least, I would like to believe that Jerry Holkins invented it, since it would make it just that much more awesome.
