We're a geek culture podcast and blog covering video games, music, food and more. We are the kinds of people who evangelize whatever we are into - it could be anything - but it's usually pretty geeky. We're casual, conversational, NSFW and hopefully interesting. We hope you enjoy it.

Apocalypse Rising

Lyndon_LaRouche.jpgPrepare yourself geeks, for on our heels is the coming of a new dark age. The world as we know it rapidly ceases to be and anarchy reigns in the streets. Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria! At least that's the case if you're one of the Larouche Youth Movement, one of the most stultifyingly dimwitted pack of misguided college kids I have ever had the misfortune of being accosted by on the street.

Supposedly Halo 3 marks the "3rd Wave" of the destruction of the U.S. in that it drives all the children of this great nation toward idleness and procrastination when they could be doing things like "discovering fusion power or rediscovering the universal principles in Classical physical science and art". I'm not sure how many of you are actually super scientists with the capacity for actually discovering fusion power but the last time I checked most of the people I game with struggled in Algebra, let alone Advanced Particle Physics. Now if in actuality you are some kind of deformed super science prodigy you should probably be working out the whole fusion thing, it's kind of important, but everyone needs downtime, and in that downtime I expect you to revel in gruesome blood filled scenes of murder and the joy of firing aimlessly into a crowd from a rooftop perch.

Wait wait, stop, looks like the Larouchites think that's also ruining what they've termed (in an astounding show of originality) the X Generation.

Apparently video games are giving children a dehumanizing view of those around them. Rather than see their peers as people that deserve respect and admiration kids now see everyone as a moving target. This is obviously vastly different from the proclamations of "People are sheep" echoed by disenfranchised teenagers for decades.

However this process of dehumanization isn't simply and unintended by product of corporations trying to provide us all with a relaxing distraction from the seemingly endless torrent of horrific reality we're faced with on a daily basis. No no, this is all a conspiracy. The corporations and media want us to view each other as living targets so as to make the work of creating false wars to swell bank accounts that much easier. Do I think large corporations are profiting from war? Yeah some of them are. Is Microsoft profiting from war? I tend to doubt it.

Most interesting is the demonization of Corporations (you have to use the capital "C" because they are demonstrably evil) and their supposed deconstruction of U.S. civilization. Interesting because it sounds familiar to arguments used against one of Larouche's past nemeses, the Jews. Being one of the ill fated tribe I can assure you we've been working to bring down Larouche for a long time now, and while we do run the media we're corrupting the youth of America through television, not video games.

The rest of the article reads like a barrel of crazy. I suggest reading through it so as to familiarize yourself with the special Larouche brand of insanity these people seem to pick up.
