Experience Turtle Power on Xbox Live Arcade

teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles-1.jpgThis Wednesday sees the release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the Xbox Live Arcade. The original 1989 classic arcade brawler can be yours for only 400 Microsoft points (a steal!). It's also got voice support, online co-op for up to 4 players and leaderboards. Excellent. Here's to hoping the servers are better than previous Xbox Live Arcade titles and won't lag out or drop me while I'm trying to serve up some pizza-powered justice on the Foot.

We need to start using the words "tubular" and "radical" more often now, as well. In completely non-ironic fashions. I want to start integrating them into my vocabulary at work and at home. "Honey, this pot roast was totally tubular" or "If you could pay the credit card bill on time that would be radical." Eh? Ehhhh?!

I've got fond memories of this in the arcade, anyone want to join me in a nostalgia-fest?

Cowabunga! It’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” on Xbox LIVE Arcade

Everyone’s favorite totally tubular turtles bring their radical ninja skills to Xbox LIVE Arcade. The 1989 arcade classic, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” will be available for download on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 beginning Wednesday, March 14 at 0900 GMT (2 a.m. PDT).

True to the original arcade classic, gamers will be able to choose from one of four Ninja Turtles: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello or Raphael and master their unique ninja weapons and abilities.

Gamers will have the unique opportunity to play through the original seven levels alone, or with up to three others co-operatively via Xbox LIVE.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” will be available worldwide for 400 Microsoft Points.

    Game Features

    · Enhanced for Xbox LIVE Arcade – includes voice support, cooperative multiplayer mode over Xbox LIVE and leaderboards

    · Earn up to 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerscore points

I call dibs on Donatello. Gotta have the reach of the bow staff.

I totally already called dibs on Raph like two podcasts ago.

    It's true, he called it.

So many good times. Last night Frodo and I kicked down with some Co-Op. A little bit of lag, but not unbearable. And with the headset, it's almost like I'm at the arcade with a buddy. Except in the arcade I'm not being distracted by the latest South Park episode while playing.

Oh, and: No pressure Geek, but dude... you officially have no excuse not to have a 360 after TMNT. I guarantee you I'm more poverty stricken than you bro, just find a smokin' deal on Ebay and throw it on your credit card with the lowest APR. I'm still paying mine off a year and a half later... hehe. I could always employ the technique I used to sell Frodo on one- I loaned him mine with Oblivion for a couple weeks and he bought one.
