Weekly Geek Casting Call!
There comes a time in the life of a podcast, little Timmy, when that podcast starts to notice little changes. Hair growing in strange places, and a strange feeling when other podcasts walk by. It is in this time of a podcast's life that it needs to grow and change. That is why, Timmy, today we are announcing an open casting call for an additional host to The Weekly Geek. We are growing, and we feel our programming should grow as well. Here are the specifics:
• This is an unpaid position. It may become paid in the future when budget allows. You do, however, get to keep any review copies of product you solicit, and the opportunities for bonuses such as games and trips are plentiful.
• Applicant must have an extensive knowledge of gaming, and be completely current on gaming trends, news, and terms. Must be an avid gamer.
• Applicant must have own recording equipment, which includes adequate quality headset, computer for recording and reliable broadband internet connection. Software can be provided.
• Applicant must be available each week for recordings, generally between the hours of 6-7PM on Sunday evenings. Times can be flexible, but you must be reliable. We need someone who can be on the show every week, no exceptions.
• Previous broadcast/podcast experience not required, but is a plus.
• Must be self-motivated and energetic.
If you are interested and believe you qualify, please send cover letter outlining your qualifications (resume not needed) and a short audio recording (aircheck) to frodo@weeklygeekshow.com (please no large files over 15mb or so). The recording can be a sample of voice or on-air work, or it can be an audio cover letter. We are flexible.
We will be going through a short casting/interview process with qualified applicants to see if they mesh well with the current show format, and play nicely with current hosts. You don't have to be local to any of the hosts, you can be from anywhere in the world.
Good luck and I look forward to hearing your awesome airchecks!
